Originally imported as a stripped fabric the gingham is now known for its checked pattern. During the 18th century, when it was being produced in the mills, the gingham became a popular English pattern. Gingham shirts were also popularized by the mod movements since the 1960s and continue to be linked with indie and mod music. many brands, such as, Pretty Green, Fred Perry, Rough Trade, Warrior Clothing, Ben Sherman gingham and Merc produce gingham shirts. Fans of mod indie and English music movements have kept this classic design alive and sharp. Take a look below at some gingham shirts in action. "I was wearing rolled jeans, cardigan and a gingham shirt, but the white
laces in my boots gave it away…HA! Most of the time I get the “old man
clothes” or “Steve Earkle”. 99% of most people have no idea." Greg de hoot
