Fry Vs. Frey: Blood and Flannel

Meet Johnny Fry and John Freyvogel two Pittsburgh area natives who not only share a nickname, fashion sense and friends but also a passion and talent for (oh so) fine art.

During the week both J.Fry’s work as tattooists (Fry at Unique Ink in Greensburg, PA and Freyvogel at Bodyworks in Pittsburgh, PA) While Freyvogel opts for realism in oils, Fry works in watercolors giving his rendition of vintage American tattoo style.

Fry Vs. Frey: Blood and Flannel (a nod to their shared style of dress). The opening reception was hosted by Artform Gallery and Tattoo in Lower Burrell, PA. The show featured original works of art adorning the walls and spotlighting each artist’s distinctive style. Cocktails were had, jokes were told, and paintings were sold!
